The Reservation and Event Services ("RES") Front Desk and Guest Group Host is a Ministerialposition. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.'s ("MHA") Christian mission, vision, beliefs, culture code and standards of conduct. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA's Christian community, conference programs and retreats. All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.
Position ObjectiveThe RES Front Desk/Guest Services Receptionist/Host must positively represent the organization with professionalism, friendliness and a pleasant appearance, in a manner consistent with MHA's mission, vision and values.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Open the front lobby, turn on the main phone and radios and make sure the lobby is presentable.
- Open the vault and set up the front desk with the cash drawer and paychecks for staff.
- Make and manage keys for guests.
- Greet guests and staff as they enter the lobby. Record complaints and questions as necessary.
- Answer phones in a professional manner.
- Sort registration mail, distribute staff paychecks, check the online info-mail, and balance the cash drawer as needed.
- Make copies, send faxes as needed.
- Put away the cash drawer and additional items in the vault and lock it, as well as turn off the lights, phone, radio and lock up the building at the end of the day. Call Facilities Services to inform them the building is being vacated for the night.
- Host guest groups at Conference Center, Ponderosa or Redwood as needed, including unlocking meeting rooms, checking to see if the Booked Event Order ("BEO") is carried out, and be available to the group leader.

QualificationsEducation:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Customer service experience.
- Experience with working with a team of people.
- Prior experience at MHA is desirable, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interact well with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to work alone or with others, take initiative and work well under pressure.
- Ability to manage front desk responsibilities with minimal supervision in a busy, fast-paced and demanding environment while working with several individuals in a small space.
- Knowledge of basic clerical skills and proficient computer skills required (typing, navigating the internet).
- Ability to adhere to MHA's professional standards for guest service.
- Ability to learn registration software.
- Ability to perform administrative functions.
Physical Demands:
This position will require extended periods seated at a desk, typing, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting and the ability to lift/carry 25lbs. Position also requires ability to hear, speak and see clearly.
Additional Requirements- Must agree to and comply with MHA's employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and use of personal vehicles for business purposes.

- Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
- Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
