Job Description
The Reservation Specialist is responsible for ensuring prompt answering of the phones and making large party reservations and assist the General Manager.

- Answering phones in a friendly manner.
- Pleasant phone voice that is clear and easily understood.
- Working knowledge of phone system and extensions
- Know how to properly take reservations for all outlets.
- Have a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in all applicable departments.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- Back up Host when needed.
- Basic Data entry.
- Logical mind - capable of determining time slots available that work for guest and maximum efficiency for Restaurant.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- 2 Years + experience in fine dining or a related field preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/Publisher and Toast Systems preferred.
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Vic's on the River Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the restaurant.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform.
- Comply with Vic's on the River Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient restaurant operations.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
