As a member of the research team associated with new B2B business opportunity development, the core purpose of this position is to research signals of change in the present and to explore the future demand of B2B solutions with logic and sound practice. In doing so, this position, together with its senior researchers, produces insights and knowledge about demand drivers to enable its internal customers (business strategists) to explore and develop new business opportunities. Without this role, the organization would have a reduced ability to grasp the real-world customer needs toward informed decision-making, facing an increased risk of market failure when new businesses are launched.
Secondary research execution. Understanding the project requirements, develop and execute a thorough and logical secondary research to produce a reliable analysis that drives in-depth hypothesis development of user needs and solution development.
Primary research hypothesis development. Working with Lead Researcher, apply sound analytical, critical thinking to synthesize relevant market information to produce demand hypotheses for primary research projects for new B2B business exploration.
Management of external agency information database. Maintain the list of possible external agencies to work with for prospective projects, with relevant capabilities and vetting history information to aid identification of appropriate agencies in an efficient manner. Explore new potential agencies, as requested by Lead Researcher.
Coordination of fieldwork. Working with Lead Researcher, ensure all aspects of the fieldwork arrangements will be executed as planned. This includes but is not limited to: accurately maintaining the latest schedule of field work sessions; confirming schedule with external agencies and internal participants; QC of research platforms and instruments; distributing necessary and relevant primers.
