ResponsibilitiesAssume lead role in various clinical research projects.
- Collaborate to design, fund, conduct, evaluate and report on research projects.
- Secure grants and funding for research and is responsible for controlling budgets.
- Ensure research activities comply with applicable ethical, legal, regulatory and funding requirements.
- Serve in a mentorship, supervisory and/or consultative capacity to students and staff. Maintain current knowledge of healthcare research-related issues, trends and scientific developments.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
The Pediatric TraumaResearch Scientist position reports to the Trauma Program Manager as part of the Pediatric Trauma Department. This department supports the Pediatric Level I Trauma Center at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in maintaining its Level I Trauma Verification with the American College of Surgeons. The role in this for the Research Scientist is to produce 10 published articles and 5 pieces of evidence of scholarly activity within each 3-year verification cycle, done in conjunction with associate researchers and physicians within Ascension St. Vincent. The projects have guarenteed funding and are not grant funded.
Preferred experience:
- Data Analysis using systems such as R, Stata, SAS, or SPSS
- Research analysis and statistical analysis
- Demonstrated writing ability though prior publications in medical journals.
- PhD degree or currently working towards obtaining a PhD degree - healthcare related degree is a plus
- Self-driven individual because this position is project based.
- Reviewing old articles to write new articles.

Partially remote - position is primarily remote from home, but there are frequent onsite meetings. 2001 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN.
