Are you interested in providing library research support services to a variety of faculty and student projects? If so, the Texas A&M University Libraries is in need of a new Research and Scholarly Initiatives Librarian (Assistant Librarian) that will focus on optimizing the ability of researchers to plan, execute, disseminate, and relate the impact of their research. We need you to aid in the development and maintenance of resources that support library scholarly services. In addition, you will provide vital research support to one or more research areas, which may include grants, research impact, systematic reviews, and/or support of the Patent and Trademark Resources Center (PTRC). Responsibilities will also include the oversight of individual consultations, workshops, online resource creation, and collaboration with scholars on research projects. Opportunities to Contribute:
Collaborate with other Research & Scholarly Initiatives Librarians on designated research support area
Assist in campus education efforts and services supporting designated research area
Collaborate with colleagues on the design, delivery, assessment, and promotion of library programs and services for research support
Participate in scholarly activities and professional service for professional development
Incorporate new ideas and technologies into library services and programs
Advocate for Library presence in campus research initiatives
Qualifications:
Master's degree in library science
No prior experience required
A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:
Experience with research impact, Scholarly Initiatives, grants, systematic review, or patents
Knowledge of academic library functions
Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities
Ability to communicate with all levels of customers and employees
Ability to work collaboratively with other staff, faculty, and students
Background in STEM or willingness to work within STEM subjects
Minimum posted salary: $62,900 per year
