This position oversees and directs the strategic planning and overall operations of the joint BUSPH-HSPH NIH-funded Climate Change and Health Research Coordinating Center, the CAFÉ. CAFÉ’s mission is to Convene, Accelerate, Foster, and Expand the Climate Change and Health Community of Practice. The incumbent will manage collaboration and communication between BUSPH, BU CRC, HSPH, the NIH Climate Change and Health Steering Committee, and external partners and stakeholders; oversee the workflow and scope of work as needed for CAFÉ affiliated faculty, staff, and subject matter experts; oversee the Internal and External Advisory Board meetings and report back processes; develop, implement, and/or review new CAFÉ trainings, as well as managing the process of onboarding existing resources; oversee the CAFÉ internal system for trainings and education, networking, and pilot funding administration / tracking; and manage the writing and submission of all required reports. They also represent CAFÉ in local, state, and national discussions with the other agencies and organizations involved in the CAFÉ Community of Practice.
The incumbent will develop systems and maintain data for tracking progress on program tasks, goals, milestones, and deliverables, including work produced by CAFÉ affiliated faculty and students, center-led initiatives (e.g., funding outcomes of projects awarded pilot grants) and events (e.g., attendance at the annual meeting of the community of practice). The incumbent will also implement and oversee all center-related activities including internal (e.g. internal advisory board, leadership team) and external events (e.g., external advisory board, NIH Steering Committee, Alliance for Community Engagement, and other key external stakeholder meetings) by securing space, inviting speakers and guests, overseeing event preparation and day of event activities, and managing event follow-up (e.g., post-event evaluation surveys).
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the CAFÉ budgets, act as a point of contact for central BUSPH administrative units including Marketing and Communications / Development and Alumni Relations / Event Management, and respond to queries from these units as able. Provides additional administrative support at the discretion of the Center co-leads. Works closely with and supervises the Center Program Assistant.
Incumbent will report directly to Dr. Nori-Sarma and will work closely will all CAFÉ-affiliated faculty and staff including supervisory responsibilities within the Administrative team.
