Research Program Assistant Ii

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for a Part TimeResearch Program Assistant II to support the 711th Human Performance Wing (HPW) located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB) in Dayton, OH.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the Environmental Safety Coordinator for RSC maintaining permits for Hazardous Materials Issue Points (IP), plus waste permits for Initial Accumulation Points(IAP).
• Facilitate any inspections for IP and IAP to include prior preparation in accordance with all DoD, Federal and local regulations.
• Serve as Chemical Hygiene Officer (CHO).
• Maintain records to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Serve as Safety Liaison for the branch to include maintain Air Force Form 55, maintain and update the safety continuity book, coordinate all biohazard/hazardous summary sheets related to protocols.
• Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures are in compliance with regulations. Do routine walk thru of the facility and document discrepancies.
• Provide occupational health support and assistance for the program.
• Assist with administrative duties for the laboratory as assigned.
• Provide quality control to the administrative area of the environmental and safety programs.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Have a minimum of a high school diploma
• Degree in an academic field related to animal sciences, health sciences, or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position is desired.
• Desired possession of an American Association Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) Certification or Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) Certification

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Have at least three (3) years' demonstrated experience in Research Program.
• Have working knowledge of safety, occupational health, and environmental programs.
• Have working knowledge of chemicals, compatible and storage
• Possess excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
• Be physically capable of standing for long periods of time.
• Prior Military experience is highly desired.
• Must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

• US Citizenship is required
• Must pass a Tier 1 background check.
