Wearable Technology can gather a variety of health information to help physicians provide remote care. This position will conduct research on data analysis for sensors, platforms and their impacts on economic development, conduct data mining-machine learning models to extract clinically meaningful information to promote in-place care. Applicants will communicate with federal, state, and city or county officers, and prepare presentation slides, write project monthly and final reports, and attend weekly project meetings; help coding for online services.

This full-time position is extended-temporary with initial funding to support the first six (6) months, with potential to be extended to complete the project.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct sensor/platform data collection, processing and modeling.
  • Explores and discovers answers to challenging questions in the economic impacts as factors to influence sensor usage and cost.
  • Develop potential models for the economic influence.
  • Facilitate and implement some interface for users and researchers.
  • Evaluate the new models or existing models in the medical device impact area.
  • Mentor new students and oversee a wide variety of research in the C2SHIP center.
  • Communicate with federal, state, and city or county officers, and prepare presentation slides, write project monthly and final reports, and attend weekly project meetings.
  • Write C#, R,Python or similar computer language to access online data using API provided by vendors.
  • Determines interview procedures and conducts interviews. 
  • Prepares analysis for research reports and conducts literature review. 
  • Trains users on equipment operation and research techniques. 
  • Assist in the development of grant applications and preparation of reports of research results.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Performs work with basic knowledge and operation of University systems and department tools.
  • Collaborates with senior researchers to design research methodologies.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of recent advancements in cybersecurity.
  • Skill in public speaking and presenting information to large groups.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in relevant field.
  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Python and WordPress, CC#, R or python.
  • Experience with digital healthcare technologies.
  • Experience collecting, processing and modeling sensor, platform and economic data.
