THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Nurse Manager assists the Primary Investigator (PI) with oversight, management, and personnel for a large Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)-funded program grant. This position will assist in coordinating simulation, education, training events, mentoring program nursing faculty simulation co-coordinators other duties as directed by the PI.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the day-to-day coordination and implementation of grant objectives and work plans.
- Assists in the needs assessment/gap analysis and the development of the program's systematic plan.
- Assists in coordinating education and training events and conducting regular/special surveys/studies for educational/training events.
- Compiles data, analyzes information, and prepares related reports for review and discussion. Makes recommendations on conclusions in compliance with grantee or federal reporting requirements.
- Directs the research assistant to gather needed data for grant reporting.
- Synthesizes evaluation data into meaningful formats for all key personnel. Assists with dissemination efforts.
- Represents the unit or department at meetings. Makes recommendations on program grant policies and procedures.
- Creates, implements, facilitates, and evaluates simulation experiences using standards or best practices (SOBP); contributes to the evaluation of the program and disseminates program results.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Registered Nurse (BSN) or Nurse Practitioner (MSN). (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of nursing education experience with high-fidelity simulation experience with manikins and standardized patients in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing programs. A valid Driver's License is required. (Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) is preferred.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrates strong communication, writing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate simulation experiences using best practices.
- Skilled in educating and training others in simulation best practices.
- Ability to develop appropriate evaluation tools.
- Organizes and maintains program records and reporting.
- Ability to coordinate meetings, training, experiences, etc. across programs and campuses.
- Strong interpersonal skills that support positive relationships with UTHSC stakeholders and academic practice partners in Memphis and rural areas.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends. May require occasional overnight travel.
