Basic Qualifications: A degree in microbiology; or biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included at least 20 semester hours in microbiology and other subjects related to the study of microorganisms, and 20 semester hours in the physical and mathematical sciences combining course work in organic chemistry or biochemistry, physics, and college algebra, or their equivalent

A combination of education and experience which included courses equivalent to a major in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included courses as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level, which must include the following experience: developing, producing, and optimizing reagents for serological arbovirus diagnostic assays; conducting experiments, analyzing, and interpreting resulting data, preparing reports, and co-authoring articles for publication in scientific journals; and planning research efforts and organizing the collection and reporting of data for development of specialized reagents and new technologies for the serological detection of emergent arboviral infections.

Duties
As a Research Microbiologist you will:
