Responsibilities
Dr. Kah-Whye Peng's research focus is on developing novel tumor targeted oncolytic viruses for cancer therapy, using preclinical murine model systems and clinical research data to drive development of the next generation of therapeutic viruses for maximal efficacy and long-term tumor control. We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Virologist/Immunologist to join the lab to study the relationships between oncolytic virotherapy with innate/adaptive immune responses and the tumor microenvironment, using bioinformatics, immunological and virological methods.
The candidate should be highly proficient in molecular cloning and reverse genetics, virological and immunological methods, and able to drive the project forward intellectually, keep abreast of scientific advances and serve as a mentor to graduate students and interns. Previous experience with vesicular stomatitis virus and measles virus is highly desirable.
Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
