Research Fellow and Project Manager

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in China, Europe, the Middle East, India, and the United States, is seeking a full-time Research Scholar and Project Manager for ongoing, California-based projects on climate, migration, Latin America, and subnational affairs.
The Research Scholar and Project Manager will be responsible for driving day-to-day activities of the multiple projects. This will include conducting research and drafting articles and reports. It will also include helping to establish and manage a network of scholars working on issues related to the role subnational jurisdictions play in responding to climate change and migration
The candidate will also be responsible for working with colleagues, including Carnegie's communications/events team and other program staff, to produce events and coordinate publications. The position will also assist with project reporting for funders.
A successful applicant will have a graduate or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, at least 3-4 years of relevant research experience, and possess a keen interest in the dynamics of climate change and migration in a subnational context. Candidates should be familiar with the climate and migration policy debates in California and within U.S. foreign policy, more generally. Familiarity with Latin American affairs is also encouraged and welcomed. They should have a proven interest in the role subnational jurisdictions have in the global landscape. The position involves independent research and writing as well as collaborative work with other scholars; a successful candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial approach.
