This is a paid internship that is part of Heaven Hill's Summer Internship Program (running May-August). The role is based at our Bardstown Bottling Facility in Bardstown, KY.
As part of the Heaven Hill Summer Internship Program, you will directly support the organizations strategic goals through project work and business-critical assignments. We're committed to providing valuable experience and professional development opportunities for students in our summer internship program. The summer experience consists of networking, intern development sessions & workshops, tours of Heaven Hill facilities, social events and more!
What the Role Is
As R&D Intern you will join our R&D/New Product Development team in Bardstown, KY. This team creates new product liquids based on corporate strategic plans and marketing driven requests. You will work with the Innovation Manager assisting in the creation of samples for new product testing and/or changes to existing formulations.
How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Prepare samples as directed by the Innovation Manager
- Prepare for and conduct taste testing to evaluate formulations
- Conduct bench-top testing to validate formulations
- Develop and deliver a presentation to the Executive Leadership Team at the end of your internship experience
Who You Are
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Science Field including Biology, Chemistry & Food Science or related field of study
- Desire to work in the spirits industry
- Prefer applicant to be of legal drinking age at time of internship
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Ability to multitask, time manage and prioritize
- Naturally curious and self-starter attitude
- Analytical, organized, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously
Physical Requirements
While performing duties of job, employee is frequently required to stand; extensive walking; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Will be required to climb stairs and may be required to climb ladders. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
