The Research Coordinator will be a part of the Healthcare Center department within AHF. They will obtain detailed knowledge of all components of assigned study protocols through independent analysis and review of study, prior to study initiation. They review with the supervisor prior to study initiation any components of the study that require additional information or clarification. They help to identify and reviews synopses with potential participating providers to gain their commitment to studies.
The Research Coordinator will act as a liaison between study participants and their physicians concerning any problems, adverse reactions, etc., related to the study medication. The will notify participants, physicians, monitors and institutional review boards (if required) of any adverse reactions to study medication and identify what is a serious adverse reaction versus non-serious adverse reaction.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related clinical research experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Research Coordinator should have the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Also, the ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
