Position Description
The executive compensation team analyzes the pay packages of the highest paid executives across thousands of publicly listed companies in the US and Canada. We scrutinize the compensation of C-Suite executives by looking both quantitatively at pay levels and qualitatively at program design, market best-practice features, and quality of disclosure.
The Executive Compensation Research Associate will work closely with the North American Compensation Research Analyst team and our proprietary financial model. This is a data-centric role providing the quantitative support for the analysis of executive pay at publicly traded U.S. and Canadian companies. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, an ability to quickly analyze and comprehend complex data models, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong reading comprehension. This position will hone skills in holistic analysis, rapid data analysis and input, applying Glass Lewis guidelines to a diverse range of cases, navigating financial statements, and examining and contextualizing legal documentation.
These are remote, temporary, full-time, entry-level positions working with Research Analysts based in our San Francisco office. These positions are eligible for a remote working arrangement in the following surrounding areas: California, Washington State and Oregon. Incoming associates will receive virtual, comprehensive training on our firm's methods and standards of research. The anticipated employment start date is January 16, 2024. Employment will extend to as late as June 30, 2024. New hires will be expected to work remotely for the duration of the employment period. All necessary technological equipment will be provided to new hires. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. - Running excel models to assist in the analysis of complex executive compensation programs
- Data cleaning to ensure quality of data
- Rapid analysis of executive compensation data, financial performance data, and corporate SEC filings
- Detailed tracking and communication of workflows and tasks in progress
- Specific projects and tasks as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Willingness to learn and commit to a month-long training program
- Strong analytical research skills with an emphasis on quantitative analysis
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Communicate proactively and effectively and manage complex workflows
- Strong organizational skills to successfully work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to multitask
- Desire to work in a professional, fast-paced atmosphere with other bright people
- Access to Wi-Fi network with at least 100 MBPS along with a space to set up desktop equipment
These are temporary, full-time, entry-level, non-exempt positions. The compensation is $19.00 per hour. These positions are eligible for a remote working arrangement in the following surrounding areas: California, Oregon and Washington State. Candidates must be eligible to work for any company in the U.S. We cannot provide assistance in obtaining work permits.
