Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Research Associate to work in the core purification group. Main responsibilities will be protein purification, characterization, and delivery of materials. This individual will play a critical role in supporting preclinical efforts in developing novel antibody-based therapeutics.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Purification of recombinant proteins via affinity and size exclusion chromatography

• Analytical characterization of purified products using UPLC and MS techniques

• Works with purification peers to fulfill protein reagent requests for Research

• Documents and tracks reagents and requests via ELN and LIMS system

• Data analysis, report generation, and presentation of results to small groups

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biological sciences or relevant field

• Typically, 2-5 years of post-baccalaureate lab experience

• Hands on experience with protein purification and liquid chromatography techniques

• Balances workload and changing priorities under supervision and performs routine tasks independently and more advanced tasks with direction

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and written/oral communication skills

• 2+ years of protein purification experience

• Hands on experience with AKTA instrumentation

• Practice with aseptic technique and BSC usage

• Familiarity with analytical chromatography, mass spectrometry and/or glycosylation evaluation Experience using Unicorn, Empower, or PMI software

• Experience using Hamilton or Tecan robotics platform

• Hands on experience with tissue culture, mammalian transfection, and protein expression

• Tracking inventory and/or requests through computer systems or excel sheets

• Use of Excel VBA macros and/or advanced functions, able to read basic code

• Basic knowledge of antibody biochemistry, understands immunological functions and systems
