Description
You will be key member of an aggressive population development and trait integration team within a growth chamber facility to develop improved varieties. Support the facility in all aspects of safety as well as performing a variety of duties associated with plant and project management activities using a range of procedures and protocols. You will work closely with group leadership, Corteva Environmental Health & Safety and all individuals to ensure projects are conducted safely, efficiently, and meet quality and compliance standards while upholding Corteva’s Values.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure everyone goes home safe and free from pain or injury by leading compliance of Corteva’s Safety Standards
- Work with leadership to build and maintain safety culture
- Work closely with EHS&S to update and maintain safety standards
- Lead site safety team meetings and daily ergonomic activities
- Serve as point of contact for safety requests and concerns
- Conduct and maintain safety trainings, inspections, audits, records, and recertifications
- Planning and executing growth chamber experiments including preparation, planting, pollinating, DNA sampling, daily plant care, data collection and management, operate research equipment, and communication with internal project leads
- Maintain facility cleanliness and contribute to process improvement experimentation and implementation
- Assist with onboarding, training, and supervision of full-time and contract employees
Qualifications
Education & Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, biology, occupational safety or related fields and 2 years of industry related experience preferred
- Experience propagating plants in field, greenhouse or growth chamber environments
- Experience or certification in Occupational Safety and Health
- Training in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar principals

- Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time and lift a minimum of 15 pounds. Must be able to tolerate hours of repetitive work in a warm, humid environment with pollen present year-round
