This position provides a variety of moderate to complex production, reproduction, clerical and bindery functions. Handles production/reproduction jobs, solely or collectively, from receipt to completion, and assists with coordination of clerical tasks.

This position provides a variety of moderate to complex production, reproduction, clerical and bindery functions. Handles production/reproduction jobs, solely or collectively, from receipt to completion, and assists with coordination of clerical tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Incumbent may perform any combination of the tasks listed below:
- Responsible for processing and distributing mail and packages.
- Assesses incoming work orders and determines best methods of production and reproduction using equipment available.
- Uses multi-function, high speed, networked copiers to reproduce in high volume, collate, sort, bind, and create distribution ready products.
- Uses color digital presses to reproduce covers, flyers, inserts and whole color documents.
- Uses industrial bindery equipment, including folding, cutting, stitching, collating and tape or comb binding machines.
- Assists Department and Regional staff in assessing work to be produced by outside printers, identifies appropriate vendors, and assists with negotiating prices.
- Performs all tasks pursuant to Bindery work including folding, stuffing envelopes, packaging, palletizing, and assists with shipping and receiving functions.
- Reviews immediately incoming work and initiates necessary orders for supplies.
- Trains Office Services employees on equipment as needed.
- Contributes to ongoing assessment of department processes and equipment.
- Acts as a back-up to department clerical staff.
- Provides skilled assistance as requested at CTA conferences and events.
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Minimum Required
- Associate degree or High School diploma/GED and 3 years relevant experience.
- Experience with, and ability to use high speed copiers and digital presses.
- Experience with color management in a printing and/or copying environment.
- Ability to operate folding, collating, stapling, stitching, cutting, mailing and other related bindery equipment.
- Ability to adapt to sudden changes in priorities and to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of, and ability to work with common digital files, including those created by word processing, desktop publishing and image generating software.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively interact with staff and vendors.
- Ability to carry and hand transport materials.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
Desirable Additional Qualifications
- Experience/technical certification with high speed copiers (e.g. Xerox, Konica, or similar) and/or digital presses.
- Certified to operate a forklift.
