QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or related field
- Hold or be eligible for State of DE Certification or adult Basic Education Permit
- Minimum of 2 years of successful experience teaching K-12 or adult learners
- Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated competency in classroom teaching
- Proficient in the use of technology; specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite

Responsibilities:
This employee is responsible to the designated administrator(s) and performs duties in any or all of the areas below:
- Teaching students in assigned subject area(s) with an emphasis on reasoning and problem solving in a hybrid and/or virtual learning environment.
- Prepares instruction and activities using the program's curriculum to assigned classes and shows evidence of preparation upon request of the supervisors.
- Assesses students' learning on an ongoing basis and alters instruction to meet group/individual needs.
- Instruct students individually and/or in groups using various teaching methods, and the Delaware Adult Basic Education state curricula.
- Knowledge and use of techniques appropriate for adult learners.
- Use data to monitor and manage student learning and performance.
- Attend staff meetings and state and local sponsored professional development activities periodically.
- Refer adult learners with challenging life issues to appropriate resources.
- Work with adult students in employment facilitation and career pathways.
- Assign students individual work as needed through our online software or a resource of the teacher's choice.
- Offer and provide tutoring as applicable.
- Contact students with excessive absences
- Performs other duties as assigned by the administration in accordance with program's policies and practices.
