What You'll Do
  • Establish inventory parameters by SKU location (min-max) based on historical consumption, warehouse capacity, lead time, and service levels
  • Actively manages stock list for the fab shops
  • Creates replenishment orders for each location (by shop)
  • Collaborates with fab shop supervisors on inventory levels, surges in demand, and any transfers between fab shops
  • Take primary-to-primary direction from the Demand Planner regarding any changes to source mill or depot
  • Enter the transfer orders and ensure the orders are shipped on time from the source mill
  • Check with carriers (e.g. rail) to monitor the flow of product
  • Escalating carrier-related issues (embargoes, acts of god, etc)
  • Tracking goods physically received at the destination to make sure goods are systematically received in a timely manner
  • Looks for opportunities to solve issues in partnership with transportation and logistics - works to proactively prevent problems before they occur and to troubleshoot when problems do occur
  • Collaborates with logistics on carrier route planning based on forecast needs
  • The role collaborates with demand planning to align on end-customer shipments for destination plants
  • Utilizes item planning toolset to develop source plant mill pull in order to achieve designated service levels by SKU for the destination plant
  • Collaborates and works closely with source mill supply planner to ensure appropriate quantities are available
  • Collaborates with demand planning to align on end-customer shipments for the fab shops
  • Work with fab area managers to gain their point of view on outbound shipments and convert the outbound shipments to a mill pull
  • Works closely with the supply planner to ensure the appropriate bucket quantities are reserved
  • Represents Fab in the weekly and monthly (consensus demand) SIOP meetings
What You'll Need
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in forecasting or planning role
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated success in conflict resolution, demonstrating courage, persuasion, influence and negotiation
  • Problem solving and time management skills
  • Steel industry experience is preferred
  • Promotes collaboration and working as a member of the team
  • Skill in problem solving and decision making
Your Education
  • Bachelor's degree required
