PURPOSE: Provide legendary service to ensure efficient day-to-day operation and maintenance of company equipment. Making sure that available equipment is reliable and properly maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities and duties of the Rental Technician include but are not limited to:
Accountabilities:
- Ensures customer loads are safely secured for transportation and completion of appropriate paperwork
- Ensures customer is informed on proper and safe equipment operation
- Accountable for maintaining company service standards for equipment servicing
- Responsible for communicating issues with equipment that are outside company service standards
Administrative:
- Completes quality control service tags when inspecting rental equipment.
- Reports to Store Manager (or Lead Mechanic) any issues with equipment that will cause extended “out of service” time.
- Informs Store Manager of parts requirements, or when using stock parts from inventory for equipment repair.
- Follows equipment service priority as assigned by the Store Manager.
- Maintains clean and organized work area.
- Maintains a competent understanding of company policies and procedures as required.
Customer Realtions:
- Maintains a positive company attitude and personal uniformed appearance when servicing equipment at all times.
- Communicates in a courteous and effective manner with customers and/or co-workers.
- Alerts the customer personally upon arriving on the jobsite and before leaving the jobsite (when service is completed in the field).
- Instructs customers as needed for proper care, maintenance, and safe operation of equipment.
- Assists customers with loading, unloading, and securing of equipment being rented.
Techincal:
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs several times per day. Ability to work 8 hours or more per day in a standing position.
- Repair and recondition companies’ equipment as assigned by the Store Manager.
- Performs service required on a specified range of products within the rental fleet, such as diesel and gas equipment, engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems, etc.
- Must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot repair problems in a timely manner and check over equipment for other safety, maintenance, or mechanical problems.
- Performs other duties in the shop, yard, and field as assigned by the Store Manager.
- Properly operates and maintains company service tools, equipment, work vehicles, electronic devices (where applicable) and work area.
- Works in a safe manner to help others to work safely - immediately reports any safety violations to the Store Manager.
- Maintains an organized tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
- Attends all department service training meetings.
- Make sure parts used are recorded; parts needed are requisitioned.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
