SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Our Charlotte Bioenergy Facility is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician with a focus on Combined Heat & Power engines and generators. The Maintenance Technician is an important part of the team in the areas of Preventative Maintenance, safety, and operations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Operations & Maintenance of CHP (Combined Heat & Power) systems & generators
- Actively follow the Preventative Maintenance schedule and conduct routine field inspection of all equipment
- Identify and request spare parts and consumables
- Inspection and analysis of equipment issues and perform maintenance were necessary
- Supporting the Maintenance Manager in spare part inventory, records, and availability
- Maintaining Health & Safety procedures, rules, and regulations
- Cleaning equipment when necessary
- Acts as a back-up Operator when necessary
WHAT YOU BRING:
Education and/or Experience
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
- Has taken some training toward a licensed trade
- Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record; ability to become mobile crane, personnel lift, and forklift certified.
Technical Skills
- Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications
- Perform basic diagnostic testing of pumps, compressors, conveyors, screws and other large industrial machinery
- Dismantle and Reassemble machines for parts repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists
- Strong competence of gaseous fueled reciprocating engines, 24VDC controls, and medium to high voltage electrical generation equipment
- Proficient in PLC & Controls / Switch Gears Onsite or remote troubleshooting and repair of Natural Gas and biogas reciprocating piston engines
- Sound knowledge of the tools and equipment necessary for repair and maintenance work
- Basic pipefitting capabilities
- Ability to weld is an asset
