Virtual, Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in New York

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join one of our schools. As a TVI, you will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments, and supporting their academic and social-emotional growth.

Responsibilities:

• Part-time position for the current 2024 semester
• Mix of direct services, consultations and case management
• Develop and implement IEPs for students with visual impairments
• Design and deliver effective virtual instruction that meets the needs of individual students
• Adapt materials and provide assistive technology to support student learning
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs
• Maintain accurate and plete records of student progress and attendance
• Attend virtual meetings and professional development sessions as required

Qualifications:

• New York teachingcertification in Visual Impairment
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Visual Impairment or related field
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent munication and collaboration skills
• Experience with virtual instruction and virtual platforms is preferred.
• 1099 contract position with liability insurance.
