Remote Sr. Infor XA Consultant

Seeking a highly skilled Senior Programmer Analyst with experience working with AS400 systems and expertise in RPG, RPGII, RPGIII, and RPGILE programming languages. The successful candidate will use their analyst and developer skills to play a crucial role in supporting Infor XA (formerly known as MAPICS) order and shipping functionality as well as some EDI (OpenText TLi) within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing RPG programs, identify areas for enhancement, and optimize performance and functionality.
• Collaborate with business users and manufacturing teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for software development.
• Design, code, test, and implement RPG programs for Infor XA (MAPICS) to support enhancements as well as maintenance.
• Perform system integration testing and support user acceptance testing to ensure the quality and reliability of the developed applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, manufacturing engineers, and system administrators, to ensure seamless integration and operation of the Infor XA order y and shipping functions.
• Stay updated with the latest Infor XA (MAPICS) releases, patches, and enhancements related to manufacturing operations and apply them as necessary to improve system functionality and performance.
• Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and other IT projects related to Infor XA order and shipping functionality within manufacturing.
• Contribute to the overall improvement of development processes, including code reviews, documentation updates, and knowledge sharing, with a focus on manufacturing-specific requirements.

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in RPG programming on AS400, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Infor XA (MAPICS) ERP systems
• Understanding of the Infor XA (MAPICS) ERP system and its integration with order and shipping processes in a manufacturing setting.
• Development with RPG, RPGII, RPGIII, and RPGILE programming languages on AS400.
• Proficiency in database concepts and SQL programming on AS400 systems.
• Experience with EDI helpful
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex business and manufacturing requirements and propose efficient technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a manufacturing environment.
