Our SpecTIR Remote Sensing Division (SRS) is conducting a search for Airborne Hyperspectral Remote Sensing System Operator for a position starting 1 February 2024.

Position Requirements:

  • Aeronautically / Aero - medically adaptable to flying duties in light civil aircraft. Flight duties may include missions in unpressurized aircraft while wearing oxygen masks.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain: U.S. Passport, U.S. & International Driver's License
  • Deployable (primary duty) - overseas & domestic possibly extended periods on short notice - normally NTE 3-months consecutive duration.
  • Physically able to lift & maneuver ~100 pounds of equipment/sensors on & off aircraft. (dollies/hand trucks)
  • Able & willing to perform operations in possibly hazardous areas.
  • Able & willing to travel/work under demanding, dynamic work times & conditions/environment.

Skill/Technical Requirements: Testing will be conducted for the following required skill set during interviews.

  • Demonstrate/understand GIS, Remote Sensing, Cartography & spectral image data processing/analysis.
  • High proficiency in computer software applications including: MS Office suite, ENVI & ARC GIS.
  • Familiarity with Remote Sensing & GPS data capture software/hardware.
  • Technical abilities to troubleshoot/maintain complex sensor & data acquisition computer systems.

Preferred/DesiredQualifications: (not required to be considered)

  • Greater than 2-years' experience operating airborne Remote Sensing cameras or sensors
  • Ability to communicate in other languages at conversational level.
  • Experience with multi-sensor payload engineering and integration.
  • Basic understanding of Electro-Optical Sensors and theory.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
