As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for providing design, planning, and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, and monitor work in compliance with applicable codes and accepted engineering practices.
This is open to those who are interested to work as an Independent Consultant/1099. This project should be completed within 72 weeks and your anticipated hours is 159.
The salary range for this position, based on the market data is $40 - $60/hour (range varies depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
- Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices
- Perform design work for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects
- Interpret and adapt traditional methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards
- Provide civil design services including preparation of civil/site work drawings, structural evaluations and designs
- Follow and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for design review and project mobilization as necessary
- Comply with health, safety and environmental rules and procedures and perform work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment
- Perform construction management duties including reviewing construction documents and submittals, performing, documenting daily inspections, and assisting with project punch lists
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in design gained from engineering/construction management industry; preferably in a hospital environment.
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer.
- Must have design experience with knowledge on preparation of civil/site work drawings, structural evaluations and plans, and water/sewer plans based on existing local utilities and facility load and use.
- Previous experience working on US Government agencies, and military domestic and international projects preferred.
- Able to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as planning and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD.
