Remodeling & Maintenenance Assistant

Job Description

Established Commercial and Residential Remodeling and Building Maintenance Company seeks a self-motivated individual willing to quickly learn many different aspects of construction including framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, painting, roofing, landscaping and various handyman type tasks. On the job training will be provided. This position is designed for individuals interested in a long-term career in construction.

Requirements:

-Part-time position with the potential to possibly become full-time. Full-time positions are filled from within the organization. Candidate must work a minimum of 4-8 weeks on a part-time basis before a move to full-time is possible. Training takes place starting immediately after hire.

-No prior experience necessary.

-Basic knowledge of power tools required.

-Salary is based on skill level. Starting pay between $17 and $23 per hour based on skill level.

-Applicant must have a valid driver's license, their own reliable transportation and be willing to drive to various worksites in metro Detroit throughout the day.

-All tools will be provided by Employer.

-Hours per day/week will vary. Employer is willing to work around school schedules, if necessary. Candidate must be available a minimum of 6 hours on scheduled work days.

-Drug testing and a complete background check are required.

-Smoking is not allowed on any jobsite.

-Applicant must be willing to comply with uniform policy. Shirts, hats, and jackets to be provided by Employer. Jeans (without holes) and steel toe workboots or shoes to be provided by the Employee.

-Must be willing to work in various weather conditions.
