Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent patient service by answering questions and providing medication information
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use
- Review and interpret prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapy
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
- Monitor patient medication therapy for effectiveness, adverse reactions, and drug interactions
- Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients
- Participate in medical management committees and provide expertise on medication-related issues
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Stay updated on new medications, therapies, and regulations
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to understand the effects of medications on the body
- Proficiency in medication administration techniques, including aseptic technique
- Ability to work in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, or long-term care facilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other staff members
