Overview
The Release of Information (ROI) Technician works under the supervision of the HIMS Compliance Manager. The ROI Technician is responsible for answering the phones consistent with service excellence standards, addresses and/or routes calls appropriately and in a timely manner. The ROI Technician will provide updates to requestors, supply requestors with options on requesting medical records; assist with logging requests processing mail, as needed. Demonstrates an understanding of the Release of Information process, including regulatory requirements and Riverside's policies and procedures. The ROI Technician safeguards and protects the patients right to privacy through HIPAA compliance; maintains a professional office environment and provides excellent customer service by being attentive and respectful. Ensures understanding of the customers requests; pro actively identifies patient/customer concerns or problems and helps to resolve the customer service matters using the Riverside Care Difference.

What you will do
- Uses good telephone techniques including 3 part greeting and 3 rings or less guidelines. Addresses and/or routes calls appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Assists with separation and distribution of mail, as needed.
- Performs quality checks to ensure the accuracy of the authorization.
- Safeguards and protects the patient's right to privacy through HIPAA compliance and Riverside's policies and procedures.
- Provides excellent customer service by being attentive and respectful. Ensures understanding of customer requests; pro actively identifies patient/customer concerns or problems and helps to resolve customer service matters.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, (Required)
Experience
- 1 year Customer Service (Required)
- 1 year Release of Information (Preferred)
- 1 year Medical Office or Health Information Management Dept (Preferred)
