Graebel Companies, Inc is seeking a Deployment Release Manager for lifecycle ownership which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise. You will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes and where necessary you’ll provide tools and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production. The Release Manager Job function works collaboratively with all participants in software development projects. This position also works with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments. Leads the effort of defining the IT strategic direction for release management tools for IT to ensure the process requirements of release management are built in. The Release Manager will assist in managing projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence to ensure the integrity of the release can be measured.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities. Manage risks and issues that may affect release scope and schedule. Have a stake in and assist with measuring and monitoring progress to ensure application releases are delivered according to plans and expectations. Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business go/no-go reviews
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure smooth and reliable delivery of software and systems to fulfill business objectives, support business processes, and ensure business continuity
  • Conduct research on leading release management practices and tools and technologies landscape to justify recommendations and to support purchasing or optimization efforts
  • Build the IT Release Calendar and work closely with other roles within IT/Development from different portfolios across IT and the organization, and create a common centralized view of all releases. Lead the effort of defining the IT strategic direction for release management tools that may be required
  • Manage and execute to a defined communications plan for all Release Lifecycle activities
  • Lead and co-ordinate the go-live activities including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists


Required Skills
  • Proven experience with release management, environment management, and portfolio and program management best practices
  • Working knowledge of current release and deployment standards
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Proven ability to collaborative with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data architects, and subject matter experts
  •  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal, logical or scientific symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, and graphs. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees


Required Experience

Education:

Four year college degree, or equivalent experience resulting in broad knowledge of a field related to the job, such as accounting, marketing, business administration, agriculture etc.

Experience:

3-5 years related experience and/or training. or equivalent combination of education and experience required; 5-7 years related experience and/or training preferred.

 

 

Anticipated Salary and Benefits Summary -$120k - $130k in Colorado. Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation range for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado. Compensation in different markets will be based upon that market.
