Maximize share of wallet and products penetration. Promote and Cross-sell Products and services with the objective of servicing, maintaining, developing new relationships, increasing bank revenues and identifying current and potential business opportunities for the Bank.


Responsibilities:


  • Promote and cross-sell various products and services through telephone calls, mailing notices and face-to face visits, with the objective of servicing, maintaining, developing new relationships, increasing the deposit and loan portfolio, increasing bank revenues and identifying current and potential business opportunities for the bank. Provide personalized attention to all bank customers in order to provide better service, attract and attain new customers and increase the presence of Amerant Bank, N.A. in the market.
  • Know and increase the Share of Wallet of a customer in order to retain them and keeping them engaged increasing their lifetime value.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of credit and underwriting standards in accordance with the bank’s credit policy guidelines. The ability to evaluate, monitor, analyze, and control overall quality of existing credit portfolio, including related depository relationships and their activity; develop strategies to accommodate customer needs, focusing on adequate growth of relationships. Work on commercial credit as well as commercial real estate loan presentations when Credit Committee approval level is required. Approve loans and other banking transactions within lending authority.
  • Evaluate and take action to adequately manage and control customer overdraft and uncollected funds transactions following approval limit guidelines in order to accommodate and service customers in a financially feasible and prudent manner, with minimum risk exposure to the bank.
  • Represent Amerant Bank, N.A. in different community and economic development activities such as business chambers and community related associations (i.e.: Doral Business Council, etc.).
  • Review daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Review transaction activity in work being processed.
  • Identify needs of customers and prospects in a satisfactory manner, providing optimum customer service while complying with bank policy and federal regulations.
  • Verify that loan requests are within established internal credit policies prior to forwarding to Credit Services Department, with subsequent communication of any outcome to the applicant concerning their approval/denial status of such application.
  • Utilize Salesforce/nCino to input new prospect, relationships and transactions. Aid in the renewal process for existing clients and use the workflows to analyze, underwrite and recommend commercial loan applications
  • Review loan documentation prior to loan closings and check for accuracy.
  • Coordinate loan closings, loan bookings and the preparation of Credit Files.
  • Assist the Head of Specialty Finance with portfolio management activities within the assigned portfolio and verticals.
  • Manages the credit process for all client needs
  • Proactively monitors the portfolio of clients for past dues, changes to client risk profile and to bring these findings to their supervisor
  • This position is responsible for gathering financial information and preparing for credit renewals and reviews
  • Assist with the implementation, activation, and follow up on all products, services and needs on clients in assigned portfolio to include documentation/administrative requirements (20%)
  • Assist in all aspects of servicing the assigned portfolio; consistently communicates with all clients in assigned portfolio and proactively takes appropriate action to manage, retain, and grow the portfolio (20%)
  • Manages credit renewals and new deal requests through the credit process (20%)
  • This includes following up with clients to obtain and provide information to clients, working closely with the credit team to provide information and offering solutions to ensure the customer receives responses
  • Proactively looks for opportunities to cross sell clients within assigned portfolio and works to prepare for all client calls in addition to prospecting activities to attract new customers to the bank (30%)
  • Manages all aspects of pipeline management, internal sales reporting and compliance reporting (10%)
  • Review depository activity of all specialty clients assigned to the individual’s portfolio to insure compliance with BSA and interact with the Compliance Department.
  • Identify issues or incidents that may cause operational risk and bring to management’s attention.
  • Ensure preventive measures are carried out to fully comply with current rules, regulations and internal policies relating to risks pertaining to BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and other AML related issues
  • To identify, evaluate, monitor and make any recommendation deemed necessary to their respective Risk Management Committee in order to assess, reduce, eliminate or control any current or prospective risks to earnings or capital arising from violations of, or nonconformance with, laws, rules regulations, prescribed practices, internal policies and procedures or ethical standards.

Minimum Education and/or Certifications Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, banking, finance or accounting.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
2 or more years banking experience in the areas of financial operations, sales or credit analysis. The job requires formal credit training and some credit experience. Some commercial lending experience with strong background in financial operations, sales and customer service techniques may be required depending on the complexity of the commercial loan portfolio in the assigned branch.

Technical and/or Other Essential Knowledge:
Oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish are required. Organizational and sales skills are required in order to establish and maintain excellent interpersonal and institutional relationships. The job requires the knowledge and the ability to make a credit assessments. Knowledge of commercial banking products and services is required. Must be knowledgeable of operations and credit guidelines and policy; follow Credit Policy and Procedures Manual. Also must be knowledgeable in BSA and other Banking regulations, financial statement analysis, loan documentation and administration. Previous experience with Lotus Notes, Internet and MS Office Skills, including MS Word Advanced, MS Excel Advanced and MS PowerPoint Level II required.
