The primary purpose of your position is to provide assistance with residents and with daily department operations in accordance with our established policies/procedures to ensure smooth flow of rehab services.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist therapists in preparing equipment & treatment area for resident care
Assist in scheduling rehab appointments
Transport residents as directed
Assist in application of rehab services as directed
Supervise residents for safety during rehab services
Communicate rehab needs to nursing department
Communicate with MVH for shared services
Assist nursing with transfers
Assist recreation with activities as directed
Input daily billing into the computer
Print out PPS trackers weekly
Print out billing for Resident Billing monthly
Back up billing monthly
Track and file rehab paperwork
Organize and maintain rehab closets
Clean and maintain rehab space
Track and maintain wheelchair fleet
Audit and track bed safety
Participate in quality assurance program as directed
Assist with education as directed
Participate in care plan meetings as directed
Assist with mobility programs as directed
Notify the facility when you will be late or absent from work at least two hours prior to the start of shift
Reports any complaints/concerns made by the resident to direct supervisor
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as, a calm environment
Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational and orientation programs
Participates, as assigned, in the external and internal disaster plan
Maintains compliance with OBRA regulations
Maintains CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent resident care information to assure that resident's rights are protected
Educated in and adheres to standard precautions; demonstrates good hand washing procedures
Communicates effectively with coworkers, residents, families, and visitors
Use only equipment that you have been trained to use, and operate this equipment in a safe manner
Report defective equipment to direct supervisor
Keep floors dry. Report spills immediately
Keep the residents' call signal within easy reach at all times
Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties
Ability to accept & follow oral and written instructions
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
MA CNA license
High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1 year experience as a CNA
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak clearly and understand the English language
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel and the general public
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of positions
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with the CEO, physicians, department managers and the general public
Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the facility
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of patients
