Under the supervision of a qualified therapist, the Rehabilitation Aide II will assist in the treatment and records management of those clients related to Physical, Speech, and Occupational therapy. They will also be responsible for related secretarial, billing activities and recording, insurance and reception work.
Patient care duties:
- Assist the therapist in the movement and transfer of patients with mobility impairments and must be trained in proper methods of body mechanics for patient assistance. This may include transferring patients from beds to wheelchairs and shuttling them to areas in the hospital or clinical practice.
- Greeting and escorting patient from the waiting room to gym and or treatment areas for treatment.
- Monitoring patients in the gym area and notify the rehab provider on patient status and or assist off and on exercise equipment.
- May assist the therapist in a variety of technical, non-clinical capacities, including treatment set ups and routine patient care tasks.
- Maintains and orders rehabilitation supplies and equipment.
- Maintenance and logging of hydrocollator and freezer temperatures
- Must be able to use and instruct safe operation of rehabilitation exercise equipment.
Clerical Duties:
- Rehab aide II are often required to perform clerical tasks in cooperation with the Rehabilitation Office Coordinator, such as completing necessary paperwork, insurance eligibility, and communication with medical billing and completing revisits and charges for all rehabilitation disciplines.
- Preregistration of patients and determining patient insurance eligibility.
- In cooperation with the Rehabilitation Office Coordinator, will respond to business office questions and concerns.
- Perform revisit documentation to account for rehabilitation provider productivity and efficiency.
- Enter daily rehabilitation charges for physical, occupational and speech therapy.
- Fiduciary Responsibility. The Rehab Aide II is a fiduciary of the organization, and is obligated to act in the best interest and for the benefit of the organization at all times. The fiduciary duties of the Rehab Aide II include:
- The duty of loyalty;
- The duty to exercise reasonable care and skill;
- The duty of good faith;
- The duty of fair dealing;
- The duty to disclose material information.
