Primary purpose:

To assist with various preparatory, analytical, and administrative requirements associated with the Company’s regulatory compliance obligations. This is a temporary full-time position.
 Internship Overview:

While this internship is largely about supporting the Regulatory group, equally important is the expectation for the selected candidate to gain exposure and experience in an opportunity-rich industry.  In doing this, the selected candidate will be learning this industry from a unique position which touches many different parts of the company.  This internship also comes with the following advantages:

  • A possible path to a regulatory position once the selected candidate has graduated
The anticipated start date of this internship will be in May or June,with a full-timework schedule commitment during the summer.
Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Work with and learn from several different departments including:  Commercial/Marketing, Contract Administration, Operations, Scheduling, Accounting, and Legal.
  • Develop spreadsheet models forecasting annualized costs, revenues, and refund amounts.
  • Prepare project cost studies supporting certificate (construction) projects to be filed before FERC.
  • Compile and analyze monthly cost, revenue, and volume throughput data from ledger.
  • Translate reported amounts and quantities into schedules supporting regulatory rate and tariff filings.
  • Review of FERC Form 2/3Q reporting for consistency and compliance with Regulations.
  • Read and report on rate and tariff filings of other pipeline companies to identify need for changes in pipeline rates, tariff or compliance practices.
  • Prepare and electronically file tariffs using TariffShark software.
  • Write effectively and understand verbal and written communications.
  • Promote the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, and listen carefully.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
  • Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
  • Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified and defined
 Job Requirements

 Minimum requirements:
 Education:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Student actively enrolled in an approved Bachelor of Science degree program in Business, Accounting, or Economics, with an expected graduation date of May 2024, December 2024, or May 2025.
 Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
 Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
 Competencies, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to take on additional tasks and shift priorities on short notice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong focus on safe work practices.
  • Able to complete work assignments with moderate supervision in an acceptable timeframe.
  • Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
  • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills (in English) are essential. 
  • Proven capability to establish and maintain good customer relationships required.

 Working Conditions:

  • This is a temporary full-time position.
  • Essentially indoors, but must be able to work outdoors on occasion.
  • Travel from 5-10% of time to customer meetings or networking events, occasional overnight may be required.
  • May be required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

  • High School Diploma and actively enrolled in an approved Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Accounting, or Economics program.
  • Strong computer background.
  • Basic knowledge of oil and gas industry.
