Regulatory Compliance Specialist II, Distribution
Department: Quality/Regulatory, Distribution
Location: Itasca, IL
Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a friendly and experienced Regulatory and Food Safety Compliance Specialist to join our team in the Food & Beverages industry. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company's products meet all FSMA/FDA requirements and food safety standards are being maintained. Your attention to detail, knowledge of industry regulations, and commitment to quality will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of compliance.
This position supports the Distribution Team on activities associated with Food Safety, such as new manufacturer and product approvals and Raw Materials Data Management; you will liaison with Regulatory/Quality teams globally, to support vendor and product documentation. Some specific areas include; key day–to-day activities, research of International, Federal, and State, local and internal regulatory requirements, customer interaction and working closely with cross-functional teams. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist plays a key role in the supply chain.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Researching vendor data, internal systems and various government on-line sites to gather and compile information in response to customer inquiries.
  • Create and maintain databases to support Raw Materials Data Management.
  • Review raw materials for compliance with applicable regulations, customer requirements and industry guidelines.
  • Issue questionnaires and documentation to customers to support their approval of product.
  • Assist and implement updates utilizing multiple computer platforms.
  • Managing key customer accounts for approval of products and manufacturers
  • Demonstrate dedication to achieve complete internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Format and create regulatory documents.
  • Maintain working knowledge of FDA regulations.
  • Read, understand, and interpret regulatory information.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple deadlines and projects.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of FDA cGMP, HACCP, FSMA regulations, QA programs, Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) compliance regulations and compliance of GFSI standards.

Required Education and/or Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry or other science discipline.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of Food Regulatory.
  • Quality experience a plus and will be taken into consideration.
  • Experience can be taken into consideration if education requirements are not met
