REGULATORY AFFAIRS SPECIALIST

This position serves as the internal expert on government regulations and guidance with respect to dietary supplements. This includes staying current on relevant laws, collaborating with cross functional teams and interpreting regulations to support compliance.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand product positioning and claims to ensure appropriated regulatory guidelines are applied to all communication platforms (magazine, marketing promotional tactics or sales promotion tactics)
• Devise and execute regulatory strategy to ensure compliance adherence with FDA (DSHEA) regulations and FTC guidelines
• Provide guidance to product champions to assure all nomenclature associated with product positioning and claims can be used appropriately across presentations and briefs
• Provide expert advice and suggest paths forward on regulatory questions
• Establish and foster relationships with key external experts in REGULATORY AFFAIRS
• Maintain and apply up-to-date understanding of regulatory and FTC positions with respect to dietary supplements
• Write and review technical and marketing support documents as appropriate
• Review internal documents for consistency and regulatory compliance
• Research and respond to internal questions related to compliance; provide timely responses
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups including Marketing, Magazine, Scientific Development, Business Development, Legal, Customer Service, Purchasing, and QA/QC as appropriate
• Limited travel as needed – <10%
• 2 days onsite is an essential function of this role
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree relevant field; advanced degree (MS or PhD) preferred
• 2+ years of Regulatory Affairs experience in dietary supplements and/or pharmaceuticals
• Regulatory experience in private and/or government sector
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written
• Proficient in MS Office
