Birth Center Receptionist
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of the Birth Center receptionist is to assist patients and visitors entering the Birth Center and perform other unit duties as assigned including clerical and patient care duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent, minimum of 18 years of age.
- Displays an attitude of interest and respect for people.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Intermediate Computer skills.
- Detail oriented, possess good organizational skills, time management and ability to work with and meet deadlines.
- Understands and adheres to policies and regulations.
- Experience as staffing coordinator or similar position preferred.
MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: See criteria-based performance evaluation.
- Greet patients and visitors entering the Birth center and NICU providing help as needed.
- Clerical duties including but not limited to answering phones, call lights, preparing charts, and scheduling of patients.
- Work collaboratively with management in development of staff schedules, balancing shifts, and duties.
- Support other direct caregivers as needed, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
