The Registered Nurse for SNF/Med Surg is responsible for time management, critical thinking, delegation, and prioritization. Direct patient care may include: assessment, monitoring, recording, and reporting patient's condition. Registered Nurse collaborates with the care team, participates in interdisciplinary care, and advocates for patients. Effectively provides Person Centered care and services
Job Responsibilities:
- Registered Nurse demonstrates: time management, critical thinking, delegation, and prioritization.
- Assessment, monitoring, recording, and reporting changes in patient's condition.
- Practices ethically and professionally within their scope.
- Maintains clinical competence specific to their care area including organization required education within stated timeframe.
- Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team.
- Communicates effectively.
- Documents appropriately and thoroughly in EMR.
- Promotes EBP (evidence-based practice) and best practices related to patient care.
- Participates in unit councils and staff meetings.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of a Nursing Program
- Experience: Prior patient care and customer service experience preferred
- Licensure: Current NYS RN License
- Certification: As required for care area. May include: CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, Specialty Certification recommended
- Physical Requirements: May require lifting (up to 50 lbs.), may require sitting or standing for long periods. Must be able to physically operate the equipment required for the job.
