Summary:
The Nurse in this position is responsible for delivering primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Duties include administering over-the-counter and prescription medications as prescribed, conducting health assessments for specified programs, and performing required screening tests such as drug and alcohol testing, spirometry testing, or audiometric testing. Additionally, the Nurse is responsible for maintaining OSHA, state, and team member health records, participating in plant safety and ergonomic programs, and assisting with team member health promotion and education programs. Identifying workers' compensation cases, assisting with maintenance and documentation of workers' compensation files, and performing other duties as required are also part of the role.
Requirements:
Education: Completion of a licensed practical/vocational accredited school of nursing program and current licensure to practice as a licensed practical/vocational nurse in the state of employment.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in performing nursing skills relevant to Occupational Health Nursing is preferred. Current CPR and First Aid instructor certification is desirable.
Communication Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are desired.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in standard computer skills, including generating simple letters, spreadsheets, or creating simple queries. Familiarity with the Tyson Business Computer System may be required.
Physical Requirements: Physical requirements include walking through the plant to ensure team member and supervisor compliance with prescribed modified restricted duty requirements. This may involve walking up steps and using ladders.
