As a rehabilitation Registered Nurse, your primary focus would be on assisting patients recovering from various conditions, injuries, or surgeries to regain their independence and improve their quality of life. Your responsibilities might include:
- Assessing patients' physical and mental health status, including mobility, strength, sensation, cognition, and emotional well-being.
- Developing individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, tailored to each patient's specific needs, goals, and abilities.
- Providing skilled nursing care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, managing wounds, and assisting with activities of daily living.
- Educating patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, self-care techniques, and strategies for maximizing independence.
- Facilitating rehabilitation therapies, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, by coordinating schedules, monitoring progress, and providing support during therapy sessions.
