Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Nurse

Whitney Rehabilitation Care Center is seeking compassionate and dedicateRegistered Nurse (RN) to fill the Wound Nurse position.
Position Summary
Whitney Rehabilitation Care Center is seeking a qualified RN Treatment Nurse to oversee and provide treatments to participants in our Complex Wound Program. The ideal candidate will be responsible to assess wounds, do treatments and documentation. In addition, they will assist the facility RN Wound Nurse as needed.Will include every other weekend as part of a regular schedule (weekend differential also available).

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Nurse:
- Perform all preventive skin care, dressing changes and wound care.
- Monitor turning and positioning of residents.
- Monitor the treatment of decubitus ulcers with appropriate documentation and communication to physician and family.
- Make rounds with physician, as needed, to discuss the care of residents who are currently receiving decubitus or catheter care.
- Assess weekly nutrition/hydration of residents with State I to Stage IV decubitus ulcers and evaluate and initiate additional nutritional intake, as required.
- Maintain clean, orderly treatment cart and restock treatment supplies.
- Follow Infection Control policies and procedures.
- Other special projects and duties, as assigned.
Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Nurse:
- Prior work experience as a Treatment/Wound Nurse a plus
- Great communication and people skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational and problem-solving skills
- Current unencumbered CT RN license
Must be vaccinated for Covid 19.
