PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the Registered Nurse is to utilize the nursing process in planning and providing direct care to residents as assigned. The nurse will plan, direct and carry out shift routines and observe, direct and evaluate the activities of personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Active Nursing License (Registered Nurse) in the state of Minnesota
· High School diploma/ GED or one to three months of related experience.
· Must be able to read, write and communicate in English

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Stand, sit and walk for long periods of time.
· Full ranges of motion to climb, balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.
· Occasionally lift/or move up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting of residents at higher weight.
· Able to transport residents in wheelchairs.
JOB FUNCTION:
· Works with Physician and other medical staff to assess the condition of residents, devise individual health care plans and service plans to see that it is implemented and services are documented.
· Oversee and supervise unlicensed employees that perform assisted living home care services.
· Monitor residents medications and adjust as prescribed by their physician
· Assist with admissions of residents including a nursing history and physical assessment.
· Keep recorded documents of residents conditions
· Respond to live saving situations with nursing standards and procedures.
· Help residents understand and adjust to the aging process.
· Assist residents with basic needs
· Follow and maintain current Class F rules and regulations
· Assist with new hire process including competency training and TB Testing
· Provide training to the unlicensed staff
· Be available for “on-call” phone calls from unlicensed staff
· Work closely with the Housing Director
· Other duties as assigned
