This position reports to the Director of Health and Wellness, the incumbent in this position will play a vital role in coordinating clinic operations and providing high-quality, evidence-based medical care, health resources, and health education to enrolled students.
- Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations, as well as institutional policies and procedures.
- Coordinates patient flow, triage, and handles medical emergencies, contributing to day-to-day clinical operations.
- Manages incoming phone calls, monitors departmental email inboxes, and greets clinical visitors.
- Performs electronic health data management, including the processing of incoming student health documentation.
- Maintains practice standards for quality and efficiency.
- Oversees inventory, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
- Actively participates in health and wellness programming.
- Membership on committees as assigned.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
School/Department Requirements: The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Maintains current CT RN licensure, BLS certification, and professional liability insurance.
- Initiates policyholder insurance reports for incidents of student accidental injury and blood-borne pathogen exposure, monitoring claim status.
- Monitors trends in student health and coordinates infectious disease management on campus.
- Current State of Connecticut RN licensure required.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in nursing preferred.
- Current BLS (provider) certification, or eligible.
- Experience with, or an understanding of, developmental issues related to students in a higher education setting.
- Ability to assess and communicate the healthcare needs of a diverse coeducational student population.
- Experience in urgent care, school-based health clinic, occupational health department, or university health service is preferred.
- Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems highly preferred.

Education & Experience
- Current State of Connecticut RN licensure required

Qualifications:
- Willingness to perform all necessary clinical tasks, including obtaining vital signs, performing point of care testing, and environmental controls
- Specific vaccination and disease prevention strategies may be implemented as needed to ensure campus community health
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to function independently while operating effectively within a team environment
- Possess solid general computer skills, including ability to work in a Windows environment. Proficiency with Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and other programs as needed. Familiarity with specific applications used by the University/Department a plus.
- Excellent oral and written skills and ability to communicate comfortably with students, colleagues, and external constituents
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex and multiple tasks in a professional and efficient manner
