Responsibilities
Responsible for emergency patient transfer coordination and communications for the UT Health East Texas System. Coordinators will work with Emergency Department, EMS, AirOne, Medical Staff, and any referring hospitals to accomplish a rapid and efficient transfer. This entails effective communication with the Medical Staff and all ancillary Emergency Service Staff in promoting safe and appropriate transfer acceptance and delivery. Personnel will coordinate Rapid Response Code Activations, including Trauma, STEMI, Code Stroke, and the Radiology Team. Personnel will also coordinate for Emergency Safety and activate for Disaster Preparedness in compliance with the Safety Policy and Procedure. Personnel will maintain and verify the Physician On-Call Active listing for referral and Hospital distribution. Personnel will understand and support the UT Health East Texas Mission, Vision, and Values and adhere to hospital policies and procedures. Some overtime and call-back may be required.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelors of Nursing Required.
- RN licensure required.
- Basic CPR required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- 1-2 years in emergency or critical care hospital setting preferred
- 1-2 years previous EMS and/or communications experience preferred
