Stepdown nurses are the master coordinators of the unit, juggling care for their patients while keeping the entire health care team on the same page. They have high-level critical thinking skills, vast clinical knowledge, and are able to stay calm under pressure.
About Stepdown Care:
- 18-bed Stepdown unit
- 1:4 Nurse to Patient Ratio
- Opportunity to gain experience caring for neuro patients recovering from strokes, ortho injuries, and traumatic brain injuries
- Amazing support, teamwork, & engagement throughout all levels – Physicians, Leadership, RNs, PCTs
Responsibilities:
- The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery and management of patient care. S/he utilizes the nursing process, the healthcare environment, and current technology to provide a climate which optimizes patient care and staff development.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Louisiana or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS
- Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required
