Job Summary:
Assesses, plans, organizes, performs and evaluates nursing activities to meet the needs of pediatric patients receiving Procedural Sedation. Provides health education to parents and patients pre and post sedation. Initiates and interprets hemodynamic monitoring parameters. Coordinates efforts of the multidisciplinary team in planning patient care. Evaluates effectiveness of sedation plan.
Job Duties:
  • Assesses, plans, organizes, performs and evaluates nursing activities to meet the needs of pediatric patients receiving Procedural Sedation.
  • Provides health education to parents and patients pre and post sedation.
  • Initiates and interprets hemodynamic monitoring parameters.
  • Coordinates efforts of the multidisciplinary team in planning patient care.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the sedation plan.
  • Collaborates with the department secretary to schedule procedures.
  • Reviews patients medical record for sedation risk assessment criteria.
  • Participates in the teams Performance Improvement activities.

Education:
Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years-Nursing (Required)
Certification(s) and License(s):
Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body, Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania
