Call Rotation Required
As a Registered Nurse at, Santa Rosa Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best - providing quality care to our patients. Position Requirements:
- 3-5 years experience required with 1 yr OR
- Ability to work 2-3 days per week
- Call required-30 minute response time
- Associates degree in nursing
- Florida state licensure required.
- Requires BLS, ACLS and PALS prior to hire date
Position Responsibilities:
- Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
- Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
- Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the Registered Nurse.
- Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a wide variety of tasks.
- Considers patient assessment information and collaborates and consults with team members (other nursing colleagues, surgeons and anesthesia providers) to develop an individualized plan of care with the ability to make adjustments to attain designated patient outcomes.
- Adheres to and monitors compliance to AORN Perioperative Standards and Recommended Practices.
- Avoids needless exposure of the patient's body, provides cover, warmth, comfort and provides/protects privacy especially during transfers, etc.
- Restricts access to the patient care areas to designated authorized personnel only
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information within scope of practice.
- Responsible for understanding anatomy and physiology with demonstrated ability to monitor and adapt to changing patient dynamics throughout the surgical case.
- Understands the basic principals and monitors the proper use and safe operation of surgical equipment.
- Accounts for sponges, needles, instruments, and other potential foreign bodies on all cases.
- Alerts surgeons and colleagues to potential risks to patients (e.g. positioning, electrical hazards, blood loss etc
