JOB DESCRIPTION:
The RN –Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
The Medical Care RN will be responsible for managing the patient care of assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the Department and in a 32-bed unit.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct access to patients for major procedures and therapies, including resuscitation.
- Consistently maintain competencies in hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, ventilator management, and other evolving techniques as they are developed.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document all aspects of patient care.
- Communicate effectively and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, physicians, and staff. Evaluate patients' signs and symptoms; then record and report results.
- Set priorities and modify patient care in response to changing conditions by utilizing problem solving skills and exhibiting good judgment.
- Collaborate with physicians regarding patient progress towards the outcome attainment.
- Assist physicians during treatment/examination of patient and processes orders.
- Make appropriate and timely notification to physician on patient condition changes.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- MUST have at least One year of experience in an Acute Care setting.
- Ideal Candidate: Energetic, engaged, good communication skills, and dedicated to a team environment.
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN) Will Consider ADN Candidates; BSN preferred.
LICENSE REQUIRED:
- Current Registered Nurse License or Compact/Multi-State license, Required.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Current BLS Certification, (Required)
COMPENSATION:
Up to max rate of $37.24/hr. (based on years of experience)
Shift Differentials: Nights / Weekends
Sign-On Bonus: Up to 10K - based upon years of experience with a 2-year commitment.
