Job Title: Registered Nurse

Overview: We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at The Institute for Advanced Reconstruction (part of The Plastic Surgery Center). In this role, you will play a vital part in providing quality care to our patients, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes. You'll be an integral part of a patient's journey, providing support and care to those undergoing lymphedema treatment, facial reconstruction, breast reconstruction, and other transformative procedures. Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Location: Bergen, Essex and Monmouth Counties

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations and health history reviews.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs and medical assessments.
• Coordinate pre-operative testing and imaging
• Manage surgical drains, perform wound care, and monitor for post-op infections.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
• Monitor patient response to interventions, assessing for improvements or complications.
• Educate and support patients and families about surgical procedures and recovery.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions and self-care measures.
• Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients and their families.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Facilitate communication between patients and the healthcare team.
• Stay up-to-date on current nursing practices and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• ACLS, PALS, BLS required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare team.
• Ability to travel (travel reimbursement policy)
