The Surgery Center Nurse will work within the system’s Ambulatory Surgery Center and assist in leading all daily operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center in the pre op and PACU areas. The Surgery Center NURSE will also play a pivotal role in advancing nursing practice within the center and improving patient care outcomes. The ideal Surgery Center candidate for this role will have strong nursing clinical skills. He/she will work in conjunction with the Director of Nursing to help improve the level of care for each patient to provide a safe environment for patients undergoing surgical intervention.

- Coordination of procedural flow
- Expected to have general nursing knowledge of all surgical procedures performed at the Center
- Excellent customer service mindset and superb communication skills (written, oral and electronic)
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate skills in Excel
- Evaluates the environment where patient care activities take place and makes appropriate changes
- Communicates effectively with all staff and ensures that all necessary information is disseminated
- Reduces chances of nosocomial infection by directing attention to infection control and environmental safety practices
- Ability to facilitate smooth and safe patient transition through the center
